Naoufal Houmairy – Director of Tennis
Naoufal Houmairy started playing tennis at the age of 10 and became so passionate about it that he started competing nationally. He then started playing semi-pro tournaments when he turned 17. Naoufal has been a tennis professional since 1999 and has accomplished many accreditations in his career: (1) PTR Certified Professional in High Performance and 10 & Under, (2) USPTA Certified, and (3) Etcheberry Certified Professional.
Naoufal is eager to improve players’ game, play, and performance.
Nadia Choqri Sablon – DBH Coordinator/Coach
Nadia is originally from Morocco, where she represented her country in many domestic, international tournaments including WTA competitions. Nadia was ranked among top ten Moroccan juniors and was the Moroccan Women’s singles champion in her category in the year of 1995.
Nadia is PTR certified and has more than 24 years of junior and adult coaching experience.
Nadia has been the DBH coordinator at Dedham Health since 2020, she manages and coaches ten women’s teams and two mixed doubles teams with many successful seasons that lead to Nationals four years in a row and winning the championship in 2017.
Nadia is eager to improve all players’ game, she would like to use her skills to coach others and help new aspiring tennis players perfect their strokes.
Jonathan Zelman – Coach
Jonathan has been playing tennis since he was 8 years old and competed throughout his junior years in both New England and National tournaments. He retained a top-5 ranking in New England through the 12’s and 14’s and was a Boston globe All-Scholastic award winner for his high school team. Jonathan is PTR certified and enjoys teaching all ages and skill levels.
Ibukun Ilesanmi – Coach
Ibukun Ilesanmi. (IB). Originally from Nigeria. Where he was a member of Nigerian Davis Cup team, and Member of Team Nigeria for the All African Games in 2003. He also reached the top Nigeria tennis ranking of #4. IB also played a lot of futures and challengers in various countries. That lead him to be ranked in the world ATP singles and Doubles from 2001 to 2005.
IB came to United State in 2005 where he attended Shaw University in Raleigh NC. He received a B.S degree in Chemistry. While he was attending Shaw university he played on the tennis team, where he was name the Shaw University Most Valuable player in 2006-2007. Also, in the school conference he was name the CIAA Men’s Tennis Player of the Year 2007. CIAA Men’s Tennis Tournament MVP 2007.
IB worked as tennis professional at Total Tennis in NY for 4 summers where he taught adult and junior, also ran mixers round robin successfully. He moved to Corolla light resort as the Head tennis professional where he ran adult and junior program successful. IB moved back to Raleigh NC and worked at Seven Oaks Swim and Racquet club as a Tennis professional. Where he teaches junior and adult. Work with different junior team tennis that won state championships. Adult teams, different level that won state Championships. He Develop juniors that are top ranked in South. Works with different Top ranked juniors in the NC. Worked with WTA players that are currently ranked in the world.
IB currently holds:
USPTA Elite Professional Certification | PTR Adult Development Professional Certification | PTR 10 and Under Professional Certification | PTR 11-17 Professional Certification | PTR Performance Professional Certification, and his also Etcheberry Certified (Strength, Conditioning and Movement in Tennis).
Leah Kadesch – Coach
Leah is PTR certified, teaching, coaching and developing juniors, adults and team players.
Held #1 ranking multiple times in USTA New England Women’s 35, 45, 4.0 and 4.5 NTRP divisions for Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles. Also ranked #23 nationally in Women’s 45 Singles and #3 in USTA New England Women’s Open Singles divisions. Won USTA New England Open Mix Doubles Sectional Championship.
Coached and rebuilt the Randolph High School Girls tennis team, and
made the team achieve the 2019 MIAA South Shore League Championship tournament in two years. Broke the team’s winning records and seeded/hosted the Championship match for the first time in the team’s history.
Awarded MIAA South Shore League Tennis Coach of the year 2019 and Randolph High School Coaches Appreciation for 2018-2019. Member of USTA New England Adult Player Committee (2007-2013). Finished NYC Half Marathon, Providence Rhode Races Half Marathon and Marathon de Paris.
Anders Lundberg – Coach
Anders is originally from Sweden, and has called Boston home since 2007. While in Sweden, Anders was ranked one of the top ten junior players and held the #1 ranking in three different age divisions: 35, 40 and 45.
Anders represented Team USA versusTeam Canada at the Friendship Cup 2002, played for the Swedish National Team in International competition at the ITF World Championship for Seniors 2003.
Anders taught Stefan Edberg in his junior years, and played in many exhibition doubles matches with world class players such as Mats Wilander, Roscoe Tanner, Anders Järryd and Mikael Pernfors.
Anders is excited to join the DHAC Tennis Community and the coaching force!
Kyle Anderson – Coach
Kyle Anderson has been an instructor at Dedham Health and Athletic Complex for over 20 years. He teaches both children and adults, offering walk-on clinics and private lessons to all levels.
Kyle has also coached both the men’s and women’s teams. He is a PTR certified instructor with 26 years experience as a full time teaching professional in the industry. Kyle grew up in the area and has a wife and two daughters.
Vlad Tubol – Coach
My name is Vlad. He is a Ukrainian native with 8 years of experience living in America and a lifelong experience playing tennis. Since he moved to the USA, Vlad has been a part of several sports organizations that specialized in working with children and in his opinion tennis it’s a great sport that can improve your physical and emotional condition, moreover, the whole family can be involved as they can practice tennis at any age.
Matt Kay – Coach
With over 20 years of experience developing tennis players of all ages and skill levels, I am passionate about helping athletes reach their full potential on and off the court. I currently serve as the Director of a summer tennis program in Quincy, MA, where I focus on fostering strong fundamentals, confidence, and enjoyment of the game.
As a former four-year starter in both singles and doubles for the Wheaton College varsity tennis team, I bring firsthand competitive experience to my coaching. I am also an RSPA Certified Professional, committed to ongoing education and high coaching standards.
For the past five years, I have coached at the Dedham Health & Athletic Complex (DHAC) in Dedham, MA. DHAC provides a positive and encouraging environment, and I truly enjoy collaborating with my colleagues to help players develop, grow, and compete at all levels.
Rodrigo Mendez – Coach
Rodrigo “Rod” Mendez brings twenty years of experience instructing players of all ages and different abilities. He is able to conduct private and group lessons for all abilities to both children and adults.
Coaching experience also includes two years of NCAA Varsity Men’s and Women’s tennis teams for Suffolk University. He was the number one singles and doubles player for the men’s tennis team from 1992-95. He propelled Suffolk to three consecutive winning seasons, including a 10-2 record in 1995 as a senior captain. Mendez lives in Halifax with his wife and their two children.
Amir Davis – Coach
Amir’s tennis experience includes playing #1 singles and doubles at Kiski Preparatory School in Saltsburg, PA. Then going on to play for the club team at Xavier University.
Amir has had eight years of experience coaching for Citiparks Public Tennis Program in Pittsburgh and the Frick Park Clay Court Tennis Club. Here he has had exhibition match experience playing with a diverse number of players including D1 players from Clemson, MiamiU, Xavier, IUPUI, Cleveland State, Wright State, and Duquesne University.
Amir’s tennis experience also includes thirteen years of stringing experience, stringing for his high school team, Club team at Xavier, Tennis Village shop in Pittsburgh, and the D1 men’s team for Boston College.
Amir graduated with a Master’s Degree in Education from the High Meadows School for Teaching and Learning at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology 2021.
Soon after, he pursued four years of high school teaching at Lexington High School where he taught Biology and Chemistry.
He has made a recent change from education to medicine as he prepares to apply to medical school with the intent to matriculate in the summer of 2027.
Currently, he is a medical scribe at Beth Israel Lahey Medical Center, does research with Mass General Hospital’s Pediatric Intensive Care team, and is finishing a Master’s in Biomedical sciences at Northeastern University.
Narith Proeung – Coach
Narith Proeung is an experienced and passionate tennis coach with a wealth of knowledge and certifications, including PTR, PTA, Great Base Tennis, and NTA. He’s also certified in Mental Toughness through PTR. Despite starting his tennis career at 13, a bit later than most, Narith proved to be a natural, quickly climbing the ranks, he finished in the top 25 for U.S. singles in the 18s and excelling in doubles. He competed in high-level tournaments like the J2 ITF and later moved up to the M5-M15 events.
Narith learned from some of the best, apprenticing under Steve Smith and Dave Anderson at Brookhaven Tennis Academy. He further refined his coaching skills through Van der Meer’s extended stay workshops. He’s known for his expertise in stroke mechanics and tennis kinesiology, helping players fine-tune their game. Over the years, Narith has guided multiple players to play at the collegiate level, with schools like UConn, RPI, UC San Diego, Florida State, URI, and Tufts on the list.
Along with his knack for mechanics, Narith is great at match charting, helping players analyze their performance to improve their strategy. Whether working on the basics or prepping for high-level competition, Narith has the skills and experience to help players reach their goals.
Loay Samhoun – Coach
Loay Samhoun is a passionate tennis coach and a full time biomedical engineer. Born with a love for the game, Loay started playing tennis in France at the age of 10. While attending Suffolk University, Loay made history by holding an undefeated record before continuing his studies in biomedical engineering at Boston University, where he graduated in 1998.
Despite a strong academic background, Loay also found a true fulfillment in teaching tennis. With years of experience on the court, Loay has helped players of all ages develop their skills, discipline, and passion for the game. As a dedicated parent of three, Loay balances family life with a commitment to coaching and inspiring the next generation of players while continuing practicing engineering work.
Nicole Gaykova – Coach
Nicole is a passionate and enthusiastic tennis coach who brings a lifetime of playing experience to her coaching. Having played competitively as a junior, she began coaching all ages in 2020, inspired by the opportunity to share her love for tennis with her community.
Nicole played as the #1 singles player at Westwood High School for four years and continued on to play for Northeastern University’s Club Tennis Team, where her love for the game was furthered by being able to be a part of a team. Beyond the U.S., she has also played tournaments across Europe through Tennis Europe, as she spends most of her summers with her family in Bulgaria.
Nicole is excited join the DHAC Tennis Coaching Team and to work with her players, helping them not only improve their skills but also find joy and confidence on the court.
Karen McNamara – Coach
Karen (Power) McNamara started playing tennis at the age of 8. She grew up in Massachusetts and played in the junior tennis circuit along with her siblings. Her family was voted the National Tennis Family of the Year. Karen played Division 1 tennis at Boston College and has extensive experience teaching and coaching tennis in Massachusetts, California, and Chicago.
Karen is an accomplished tennis player, instructor, and coach. Karen has been teaching at the Longwood Cricket Club for many years. She coached for BC, Babson, HBS, Newton Recreation, High School tennis teams, and various country clubs.
At Boston College, Karen earned a bachelor’s degree in communications and a master’s degree in counseling psychology. Karen is a certified RSPA and PTR Tennis, Paddle (platform tennis), and Pickleball coach. In addition, Karen is a certified Mental Performance Coach with Peak Performance Sports and a Goal Achievement Coach with M.O.V.E (Motivate, Organize, Visualize, Excel).
In 2023, Karen won a gold medal in both singles and doubles at the Huntsman World Sr. Games. She was ranked #1 in New England and #10 in the country in doubles for her age group in 2022 and 2024. She was voted Wheelchair Tennis Coach of the year in 2017 by the U.S.T.A.
Karen has three children. She is excited to be a part of the DHAC staff and looks forward to growing the game of tennis and helping members to achieve their goals and improve their overall tennis game. Karen specializes in doubles strategy, and her favorite tennis stroke is the volley.
Adante Fuller Smith – Coach
Adante Fuller Smith’s journey in tennis began in 2006. While he enjoyed the thrill of junior competition, he discovered his true calling in 2015 when he transitioned into coaching.
During his time in Charleston, South Carolina, Adante specialized in developing top-tier talent, mentoring numerous Southern Section-ranked juniors on their path to Division I collegiate tennis. Upon moving to Lexington, Kentucky, he expanded his impact as the Assistant Men’s and Women’s Tennis Coach at Midway University. He simultaneously served as a coach at The Lexington Tennis Club (LTC), where he led a wide range of programming, from junior green ball and elite clinics to adult beginner and intermediate sessions.
Most recently, Adante served as the Head Tennis Professional at the Tarratine Country Club of Dark Harbor in Islesboro, Maine. Driven by a passion for bringing joy to others through the sport, he is thrilled to bring his expertise and energy to the DHAC family.
